Update on March '23 Donation Drive for Ukraine

There was a bit of news today that I thought was worth sharing and provides a good opportunity to give an update on the donation drive I announced here.

It was announced today that the International Criminal Court (sometimes referred to as "The Hague") has issued an arrest warrant for Putin as well as one of his ministers for war crimes related to the alleged abduction of children from Ukraine and deporting them to Russia. The odds that Putin will ever face a court of justice are long indeed, but it's an important recognition of what is happening in Ukraine right now and has been happening for the last year. As a parent, it is particularly chilling to me. I can't imagine the pain of having our child stolen or, even worse, to have been orphaned and then taken away from any chance of being reunited with extended family or loving friends.

So, I'm happy to share that donations to BBN since I announced this campaign are currently at $48. That's not a lot, but roughly double the donation's the project typically receives in a 15 or 20 day period. With the match I'm making with my own money, it's $96. Again, not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's something.
