Build 0.8 Now Available

It took some time but Build 0.8 is now available for download. This Build is the beginning of Chapter 12, which is the last chapter in Act 1. So, what's in this update?

First, new content that starts off Chapter 12. We start off with an answer to the Chapter 11 cliffhanger, who is at Alex's door. Then Alex begins his discussions with Mayhew about what the elder has planned for our young doctor.

Second, the new images for this update have had some additional touches applied on Photoshop. The changes don't dramatically alter the style of the images in BBN but I think help to bring out the colors, lighting and shadows a bit better. You can find some samples below!

Third, the Android build has been better optimized for a smaller file size.

Finally, behind the scenes, I've added what I call the "Bell Tolls" tracker. Now, not only is Alex's relationship with Mayhew tracked (e.g., how receptive he is to the elder's influence) but now Mayhew's patience with Alex's more moralistic or combative responses is measured. This is cumulative so that no one event will lead to a "Game Over"-scenario. As with all the scoring and tracking, this is intentionally happening behind the scenes and is not announced to the player, but I wanted to let you know that it's there. And don't worry! When Alex is getting close to crossing the line, he'll get an in-story warning (and have opportunities to turn things in the other direction).

What's in store for the next update?

Along with the usual fixes and updates for typos and images, the next update will continue where this build leaves off and include a LOT of explicit content. For PCs and Mac, it will also include the beginning of the Image Gallery.
